There are four requirements to become a legally qualified voter in Vermont:
After you complete your application to the checklist affirming you meet the requirements above, the local board of civil authority or town clerk will review your application and make a decision to add you to the checklist. If denied, you can appeal to a court in your county. There is NO PARTY REGISTRATION in Vermont.
Each town or city in Vermont has a checklist containing the names and addresses of residents legally qualified to vote. There is no statewide voter file in Vermont. Checklists are public records in Vermont. To obtain a voter checklist in Vermont contact the town or city clerk for each municipality.
