The
Vermont Credit Union Golf Challenge (VCUGC) which was originally
scheduled for Monday, June 28 had to be postponed due to soaking
rains that forced the superintendent of the Quechee Club to
close the course to carts the day of the tournament. We’re happy
to report that we have secured Tuesday, September 28 as the new
date for the VCUGC and that virtually everything else remains
unchanged.
We will still have a 10:00 a.m. shogtun start with on-site check
in starting at 9:00. We’ll also still have two Closest to the
Pin contests and a post-tournament barbecue. The only difference
will be that our golfers will now get to experience the best of
both worlds that The Quechee Club has to offer. Because the Club
is closing down nine of their 36 holes for maintenance in
mid-September, the VCUGC will take place on the back nine of
both the Highland and Lakeland courses.
Offering some of the most beautiful foliage and scenery in
Vermont, the elevated tees and greens of Highland’s back nine is
a challenging mountainside track that will test shot-making
ability. Though no less challenging, the back nine of Lakeland
winds through the picturesque landscape surrounding the
Ottaquechee River. This best of both worlds scenario offers
VCUGC participants the opportunity to experience the Quechee
Club in a way that few golfers ever do.
AVCU has reopened VCUGC registration
until September 10 and encourages credit unions and
companies who were previously unable to join us to register
today by filling out and submitting the
original tournament brochure.
The tournament entry fee of $150 per person includes greens
fees, cart, barbecue lunch, gifts, winner’s trophies and a
chance at two cash prizes for Closest to the Pin.
