Client Services/Administrative Specialist - Vermont Federal Credit Union (8/13)
Vermont Federal Credit Union is searching for a full-time Client Services/Administrative Specialist to support our Vermont Federal Investment Services (VFIS) division. This position will be based in our South Burlington office. The perfect candidate will ensure that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. Under the direction of the VP of Branch Operations, responsibilities will include: scheduling client appointments, recording client communication and client related documents, providing assistance to the Financial Advisor for VFIS, preparing applications and contracts submitted by the Financial Advisor, performing administrative duties for department, handling returned and outgoing mail, and performing other related duties as assigned. This person will also serve as liaison for Credit Union interdepartmental communication, do quality checks on new business applications and transactions submitted by the Financial Advisor, and provide information to clients regarding account activity, market quotations, and trade transactions.

Requirements: A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in house training or apprenticeship program. A minimum of two years of similar or related financial services industry experience is required. General knowledge of Wealth Management investment and insurance offerings, ability to review and analyze financial data, excellent organizational skills, ability to multitasking and work collaboratively with a team are necessary. Courtesy, Tact, Friendly, Professional and Diplomacy are essential elements of the job.

Consumer Loan Underwriter - Vermont Federal Credit Union (8/13)
Vermont Federal Credit Union is searching for a full-time Consumer Loan Underwriter based out of the Burlington Office. The ideal candidate will be able to ensure that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members and will have courtesy, tact, and diplomacy. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating information on consumer loan applications and documents to determine if the applicant(s) meet Credit Union guidelines. Actively participates in meeting the credit union's consumer loan goals. Reviewing documents in loan file, verify accuracy of insurance forms, and other required documents. Reviews approved consumer loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing.

Requirements: One year to three years of similar or related experience. A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in house training or apprenticeship program.

Accounting Manager - Vermont VA Federal Credit Union (7/13)
Vermont VA Federal Credit Union in White River Junction seeks an experienced Accounting professional for a new Accounting Manager opportunity. For the right candidate, this position could lead to becoming our Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure that all accounting operations, reports, and records are prepared and maintained.
  • Perform quality controls of monthly Financial Statements and ensure the integrity of the Credit Union's financial information.
  • Assist in preparation of the NCUA Call Reports and other regulatory reports.
  • Ensures all month-end adjusting entries to the general ledger are complete and accurate based on updated reconciled, sub-ledgers.
  • Keeps up-to-date on GAAP and accounting guidance from the NCUA and develops plans for implementation of changes.
  • Oversees federal funds daily investment and proper and efficient cash management techniques.
  • Assists in preparation for audits and NCUA exams.
  • Completes assigned research and projects accurately and on time.
  • Oversees the Accounts Payable function.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements.
  • Assists in formulation and documenting procedural changes.
  • Ensures full compliance with the Credit Union operating policies and procedures, Service Standards and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in a financial institution.
  • Strong working knowledge in GAAP and capability to apply the knowledge in day to day accounting operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently, both verbally and in writing, with individuals and with groups.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and Accounting applications.
  • Ability to  multi-task, follow-through, self-direct, and meet deadlines
  • The ability to research, analyze, develop, and produce recommended procedural changes.
