Head Teller (Milton) - Vermont Federal Credit Union (7/22)

Job Description: In collaboration with the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for leading teller line operations through scheduling and directing daily activity of tellers. This position will work with the Branch Manager to recognize and develop areas of improving teller staff performance through coaching and cross training. Conducts staff meetings to keep teller staff informed of policy or procedure changes.

The right candidate will be responsible for in branch training of new staff, assisting with performance reviews, and informing manager of potential issues and may be involved in corrective action process. Senior Consumer Loan Underwriter - VSECU (7/15)

The VSECU Senior Consumer Loan Underwriter is responsible for analyzing member loan applications to determine whether they meet underwriting guidelines, have the ability to repay the loan and for assisting with various tracking and reporting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and approve consumer loan applications by reviewing application information, using underwriting methodology, and following the VSECU consumer loan policy to determine eligibility factors including run credit report, use national database to determine value of collateral, employment history, tax forms (if necessary), member assets, property value and other criteria that is requested on the form.
  • Approve loans within allowed lending authority and forward loan applications back to consultant for disbursement. For loans above lending authority or that are questionable seek approval and review from either the AVP-Consumer Loans, VP-Lending or SVP-Lending.
  • Seek compromises through obtaining additional information when it’s feasible to approve a loan with acceptable risk factors.
  • Underwrite loans that come through the Indirect channel. Understand the indirect process, maintain knowledge and adherence to VSECU indirect lending guidelines and communicate to dealerships on loans approved or denied.
  • Reach out to previous borrowers to offer products and services that can save member’s time and money.
  • Provide back up as needed to the Consumer Loan Processor by processing Indirect loans and producing daily and monthly loan reports.
  • Participate in training and networking sessions to remain abreast of the current lending environment.
  • Comply with VSECU policies and practices related to assigned duties and with Vermont and federal regulations regarding monetary transactions and reporting requirements, such as Suspicious Activity Report, patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act and Truth in Savings.
  • Maintain strict confidentially practices for the protection and care of VSECU members

Education / Knowledge and Experience:

E-Mortgage Originator - VSECU (7/15)

The VSECU E-Mortgage Originator is responsible for assisting VSECU members with internet mortgage loan applications. Will originate first lien applications as well as originate, process and underwrite second lien applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and complete mortgage loan applications channeled through the web based on-line loan program; consult with members regarding their needs and eligibility, inform them of the available products and assist as needed to complete details of the application.
  • Perform steps to prepare the loan package as needed.
  • Request credit and discuss results with applicant(s).
  • Request flood determination and discuss results with applicant(s).
  • Maintain mortgage loan software knowledge, including changes and new product implementation; work with the VSECU IS department as needed to address software issues.
  • Assist other mortgage department staff with various stages of lending, including preparing information and holding face to face meetings with members.
  • Stay informed about the mortgage loan market and other credit union industry trends, products and services; assist members by cross selling other VSECU products and services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education / Knowledge and Experience:

Mortgage Servicing Assistant - Heritage Family Credit Union (7/1)

Responsible for projecting a positive image as a representative of the credit union in receiving visitors and guests. Answer telephones, process mail, and perform a variety of administrative duties for the mortgage department. Utilize a range of computer applications, file and answer phones. Receive and announce visitors and guests and answer the mortgage phone line in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Coordinate follow through so visitors and guests are met promptly.

Provide World Class Member Service and assist members and guests as necessary during their visit. Answer phone calls, disseminate information or resolve questions, and/or route calls to the appropriate individual. Take messages and coordinate follow through as needed. Provide assistance/information to members with mortgage servicing questions (ie. Loan balances, payoff amounts, escrow information, payment information, etc.). Assist members in scheduling and/or arranging appointments and meetings with mortgage department personnel. Pull daily rates from Freddie Mac and generate email to staff.

Responsible for review/quality control of HELOC loan set up on the Symitar system. Review the loan file and verify that the information is complete and accurate in the Symitar system. Monitor and input new mortgage recording information as needed on the mortgage system. Set up new automatic payments for mortgage products. Provide maintenance for current mortgage accounts requesting automatic payments. Prepare loan files for investor selling and mortgage scanning. Scan recorded mortgage deeds and documents for existing loan files. Provide back up for quarterly ALCO mortgage rate survey, the weekly CD rate survey, weekly mortgage rate survey, and the pipeline report. Process and distribute mail, interoffice correspondence, and deliveries for the department.

Also responsible to deliver “CHECK BAG” to teller area every day at 4:30PM. Maintain inventory of supplies for the mortgage department, and order miscellaneous supplies as needed. Attend training sessions (CUPATs) and complete required training in a timely manner. Attend and participate in other group or company meetings as required. Maintain a clean and well organized work area as well as assist with the office kitchen cleaning duties and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the HFCU properties. Mortgage Underwriter - Heritage Family Credit Union (7/1)

The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for reviewing mortgage loan applications to determine whether they meet underwriting guidelines and the borrower’s ability to repay the loan. After reviewing the loan application and supporting documentation, make a decision to approve the application as submitted, approve it with conditions, suspend it, or deny it.

Underwrite and approve mortgage loan applications by reviewing application information using investor (ie. Freddie Mac) and HFCU mortgage polices to determine eligibility factors including debt to income analysis, LTV, credit analysis, employment history, cash flow analysis, tax forms, member assets, property value and other criteria. Underwrite all loan types including: Purchases, Refinances, Second Homes, Investment Properties, Construction, ARMS, Condominiums, Land Loans, Workout Loans, FHLMC and Portfolio. Perform income analysis of basic and complex loan requests to render sound credit decisions. Perform cash flow analysis on personal and business tax returns. Perform Collateral Reviews using the HFCU Appraisal Review Sheet. Provide efficient and accurate turnaround time of the new underwriting loan submissions and conditions submitted. (Turnaround time is 48 hours from submission to underwriting).

Approve loans within allowed lending authority and make recommendations to senior mortgage staff; approve, suspend or deny loan applications that do not meet requirements. Communicate to the origination group and management in regards to matters related to underwriting. Maintain knowledge of the secondary market guidelines, real estate industry and follow all local, state and federal laws and regulation pertaining to the real estate industry. Attend training sessions (CUPATs) and complete required training in a timely manner. Attend and participate in other group or company meetings as required. Perform miscellaneous requests, respond to email and phone inquiries, file, fax and mail information. Assist other department staff as needed. Maintain a clean and well organized work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the HFCU properties.

This is a service position that provides World Class Member Service to both credit union members and employees. Serves members promptly while representing the credit union in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Performs a broad variety of transactional duties to serve members. Interview loan applicants for consumer and credit card loans and enter the data into the core system. Pull credit reports, calculate ratios, add comments and make a recommendation. If within guidelines, approve the loan based on the loan rating or send to an authorized representative to be approved. Offer and educate members regarding our debt cancellation, gap and mechanical repairs products. Verify vehicle loan information, fund disbursement, title registrations and automobile insurance. Book consumer loans to insure proper documents are completed, follow up on information required to complete the lending process and forward loan documents for review in a timely manner.

Attend training sessions (CUPATs) and complete required training in a timely manner. Attend and participate in other group or company meetings as required. Maintain a clean and well organized work area as well as assist with the overall cleanliness of the HFCU properties. Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union, located in Houston, Texas, with over $220 million in assets is currently in search of a technology expert to act as their Vice President of Information Technology & Innovation. As a part of the strategic leadership team, executive management will look to this individual to bring vision and innovation, through the technology channel, to the credit union. The successful candidate will not only be charged with leading the current technology infrastructure including: vendor management, programming, networking, telecommunications, desktop support, call center operations and extensive project management; but will also be relied upon to bring the next generation of technology to the organization. The ideal candidate will have five plus years of senior experience leading an IT operation within a financial institution; extensive project management, visionary leadership, and a diverse background in IT operations.
