Using sophisticated
patent-pending technology, TraceAssure not only authenticates
your site but actually lists your credit union's name, thereby
ensuring that your members truly know they're at your real
website. Free and very easy for members to install in
their web browser of choice, the TraceAssure toolbar is an
excellent first line of defense against fraud, identity theft,
and phishing or website spoofing attacks.
Step 1: It
takes less then five minutes to register your website's
domain and give your members the protection they need. Simply
fill out an online form to begin registering
your domain. You'll need your website's IP address,
domain name, the email address through which your domain is
registered, and basic name and address contact information.
To get started, visit Trace Security's
TraceAssure information page.
Step 2: Once you have registered
your site and been verified and approved by Trace Security's
technicians, you'll be given instructions about how to add
the TraceAssure Enabled image to your website to let members know they're protected. The image
contains a link to the free TraceAssure Toolbar browser
extension that works with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,
and other popular browsers, so even if you can't immediately tell your members
about this new protection, Trace Security will do it for you.
Step 3: Take advantage of the opportunity to show your
members how committed to their financial security your credit
union is by getting the word out right away. Trace
Security has been in the news a lot lately, so chances are
your members might know about them already.
Don't delay - there will be a major announcement about this
program at next week's GAC and the rush from other credit
unions may delay your registration.
Once you have registered with Trace Security, if you encounter
any difficulty installing the TraceAssure Enabled image on
your website, you can call Trace Security at 225-612-2122 or
John Cote at 800-234-8285 x 104 for assistance.
